Politics took centre stage at the 2017 SAG Awards, with stabs against Trump, calls to action to protest his ridiculous, detrimental and isolating Muslim Ban and rambling celebrities stating they have 40 seconds more to speak and continuously speaking for definitely longer than that. Watching everyone’s powerful speeches about coming together was inspiring and I truly hope that these celebrities use their influence for good.
But, I would be lying if I didn’t say the lightheartedness of fashion (and fashion mishaps) didn’t have a special place in my heart.
One exception: If you didn’t get the chance to see Mahershala Ali’s powerful, emotional and beautiful speech about the pain of persecution, you need to watch it. I’m serious, if you haven’t seen it click here and prepare to cry.
Back to the fashion. I don’t like to put people down. I don’t want to criticize anyone for their fashion choices. Fashion is subjective. So, I’m going to share with you my favourite looks from the 2017 SAG Awards.
What kind of monster would I be if I didn’t mention this beautiful dragon creature that has blessed us with her online presence, food loving self and creator of the ADORABLE child Luna. Girl always looks fire, and you know it.
The rapidly growing middle child of Modern Family gives me booty and hair envy. Ariel is 19 and I want to be her. Also, how cute are her and her beau? Ugh, my heart is so happy looking at them.
Taraji P. Henson
I. Am. Obsessed. With. This. Look. Taraji looks like a Disney Princess with sex appeal and I am digging it. Must recreate this look somehow, somewhere.
Bryce Dallas Howard
Three words: Jessica Rabbit Elegance. This dress hugs her in all the right places and I can only dream of my curves looking as good as Bryce’s one day. That is all 😍
The red is doing it for me today. Simple, red, delicate heels, matching lips. Yup.
Okay, I can do without the shoulder flower but Naomie killed in this jumper. And also, she is the cutest human being so sorry not sorry for including this.
I’m going to leave you with this number. This dress is everything and Vanessa Kirby wears it so well. I am totally bias though. I would wear this anytime, anywhere.
Did I miss and fire fashion from this years SAG Awards? Let me know in the comments!
